"If I were a teacher"

enough of criticizing the teachers.....lets put up wat would u do if u were in their shoes to get the best out of young architects........to make learning architecture more fun.......especially a design studio(eg. interesting topics).......we could actually recall all our sem....nd think how can we remodel our existing design problems....

  3. see...firstly they shud be given easy design tasks...somethin like designind doors n stuff...so that they understand wot is to be done while thinkin about a design...1st semester shud be given interesting projects like chair design, a studio design..instead of design a skool n al...which v were told 2 do in our 1st sem..n 1st sem students shud be made aware bout chd...everything bout chd is taught in 6th sem which is bullshit...sum of us didnt know till v finifhed our 6th sem the concept of v7s...i think this mite help...

  5. i totally agree with nikharika mam...
but we got a glimpse of product designing in our workshop class...
we had to design a pen/pencil holder...it was basically a DO IT YOURSELF assignment...

  6. And the 1 thing i hate is that we are given only the professional details of the client..
Most of u might differ from me on this..
But i genuinely feel that we cant design a house for someone by just knowing him professionally..we need to have personal info too...
Because ultimately we need to build a HOME for him..not just a RESTHOUSE....

  7. i somewhat second nikharika... i totally disagree on building typologies for the first year.. (or at least first sem).
for them, spatial analysis of some sort is important. basic design skills comprising of sketching and modelling needs to be encouraged ( or enforced ! ) .. ( i am quite a beginner at sketching myself)
CONCEPT stage in design should me made more important. ( i guess we already discussed this..!)
what passi says abt the personal info might be a debatable topic acc to me. i think u r limiting the thought or narrowing down to lesser possible solutions so the personal info part may not be so required. here, the students role about understanding the lifestyle of a client (could be a doctor or a teacher ... or any thing of this sort) comes into picture. one need not FEED every detail.

  8. as far as sketching is concerned....we need to practise it ourself....and we have graphics for this purpose..
and the topic of model making is being covered up in our 3rd semester workshop classes....
so ultimately it comes up to our own will....:)

  9. DEBATE CONTINUED..:-
Well mam if i am building a house for my client, then i need to know his personal interests..i need to build a place where he can relax away from his official burdens..
professional detains are very imp. i accept, but according to me these will have greater importance if i am building a work place for him..not his Home..

  13. ok ,as what i think for ideal teaching method i would suggest for every student of any senior to come with new ideas and thought and there should be gran meet any where in the college and all should be equally participating in this type of meet and the talk can be on any thing ,not even on architecture can also be with own surroundings and with this type of study method every student who had a fear of stage or hesitation in making a talk with a mass community ,i would thin i will be finished to great extend ,so kindly do such type of things in the college campus and this type sucha thing could bound ower cca family again ,as we are now on the stage of scattering ,no one bother about any thin going in the college ,and i have a humbel request to all the cca family that we should respect every one felling what he or she thinks about the college and i hope every one think for his cca family,i hope this type of study mythology would again unite the cca .i feel very bad when i see that each batch is thinking of his own even himor her self no bother about the cca . so kindly organize this type of classes and casa members had to do such type of action as the life will be same in the flow as going on ............but we would be past after some time no one will recognize no one so to be bounded for long time do this i am sure each batch will prazze every senior or junior for her or her good thoughts. but atleat come with new thoughts as the coming new batch would have a good intrust in the architecture.

  14. well niks nothing is late as u said that bagga mam introduce the model making with basar wood but it is wrong as ower batch even owr senors didnt khow how to work with wood ,as it difficult, not imposible we are guided wrong with model making from first sem as the pepole who are guiding us is wrong method even they didnt told how to make model from 1st sem the wrong process is being taught in model making even in wood work shop we are taught diff type of joints but its toatal wastage of material its an advance feild in wood shop ,the tools which we are using in making model are not enough so nicks never say its late each second is for learning and time is urs teacher.good to see urs comments for ideal teaching thoughts but never compare with other and what can u do u can share with we peoples.
